Tips
- Know Before You Go
Each exhibit has a "play guide" you can take with information on how to enhance your child's experience of that exhibit and suggestions for at home activities and resources to help your child's learning and fun continue after his or her visit.
- The Extras
The By the Sea area is a special play area created just for infants and toddlers. Kids love the fishpond filled with water and plastic fish they "catch" with a kid size pole.

Great Ideas - Too Small for Them

We drove from Issaquah to try this museum out. We went on a Thursday since it was free this month. We were a bit disappointed. It was difficult to find - not a lot of signage. And parking was a bear. The only parking nearby was 1 hr only. The staff was very firendly and helpful. And if there was only more room - like twice the space - it would be worth it. It's packed into such a small area it's a bit overwhelming and the kids (two year old twins and a 4 year old) were bored quickly.
Pros: ideas for exhibits, friendly staff, nice promos
Cons: much too small, lack of parking, needs more signage

This museum offers excellent on-hands experiences for children and their parents. Located in downtown Tacoma, it is easy to find and easy to get there whether you are driving, riding the bus, or taking a taxi. It is definitely a place to put on your list of fun family places.
Pros: Educational, Innovative, Family fun
Cons: Poor parking
Children's Museum Of Tacoma is Not Very Good

I tried to take my toddler here and it was very small and expensive for what it was. We actually tried to participate in a toddler class and the teacher got very frustrated with my active son. We ended up leaving and getting our money back, very frustrating experience.
